Wellnuo Testimonials

SEE IT IN THE LIVES OF REAL CUSTOMERS

Ferdinand, Our founder’s father

I’m Ferdinand. My son, Robert, invented the Wellnuo plug. I love my son. My son loves me. Wellnuo was born out of this love. I suppose it all started because he wanted to know how I was doing, but I was so involved with my projects, I lost track of time and didn’t answer the phone. My boy is smart, so of course, he started developing ideas on how he could know if I was OK, without me having to change any of my habits. The first and easiest answer was a video camera, but I didn’t want to be monitored like a baby. He started asking more questions about my health, like – how long do you sleep every night dad? 11 hours. Robert didn’t believe me, so he developed the first plug to monitor my sleep to see if I was telling the truth.  (I was!) When we started discussing what the results of the data said about my activities, he began to become interested in adding additional sensors. Additional sensors to smell, read the air quality. He wanted to keep me safe, make sure my home was heated/cooled properly, make sure there wasn’t any evidence of mold, make sure I didn’t leave the stove on. As he added new sensors, I helped him by soldering all the electrical components in my workshop. In fact, I have been soldering all the components for the first 100 Wellnuo plugs. Robert has learned so much about me, and I about him, through this collaboration. We get to work with each other on his invention. It would make me so happy to see Robert bring his dream of this smart plug, born out of love, to help all aging parents and their beloved children, stay informed, stay healthy, stay connected.

Faye & Trinh

Hi! I’m Faye. This is my mom, Trinh. My mom is very active, healthy, and a social butterfly. But I do worry about her since my father passed away a few years ago. I live a very busy life, with 2 teenage daughters and running my businesses. My mom lives nearby, but my brother and I just don’t have the time to always call or stop in to see her, as often as we should. We want to know that she’s doing well. Wellnuo makes it possible for me to just glance at my Apple Watch and quickly see that she’s having visitors or has had her daily yoga. I love that I can be at my girls’ volleyball touneyments and click on the phone app to check her activity stats for the day. We don’t need a lot of info, but when we do, I will be upgrading to a premium plan where I can have more history. It’s less intrusive for her, as well as for me, especially when we all live such busy lives, but still want to be connected.

Ingrid&Wolf

My wife Ingrid & I, live together, alone. We are so lucky to have each other. We’ve been active all our lives: I’ve run my businesses, my wife has worked as a school teacher, we have traveled quite a bit. Things have started to change. I’ve been on kidney dialysis for 5 years, and Ingrid has had knee surgery twice, as well as ankle surgery. We’re doing well, have help from a nurse a few times a week. Two of our four kids, live near by. The other two, live in different countries. But, we all want to stay connected, to each other. Ingrid and I want to stay in our home, until we can’t.

Wellnuo has given our family lots of information to discuss. We are constantly talking about – when is it time to move into a nursing home? But, our activity levels continue to be good. We have our good days and our bad days – the app notifies our kids when we make changes from our normal routines. They call to talk to us about theses notifications. We laugh about it – Ingrid jokes that Willy (that’s what she’s nicknamed it.) knows when I’ve farted, even when I can’t smell any more! We also share our activity reports with Ingrid’s physical therapist – it gives him better insight into why Ingrid’s knees are still weak – she swears to him (and me) that she’s been walking & exercising, but Willy’s reports tell a different story. Ingrid and I joke about how Willy knows when and what we’ve conveniently forgotten.” It’s not our time to move yet, but we’re happy that Wellnuo has given us lots to talk about.

David

I’m David. Wellnuo has been the peace of mind my kids’ have needed. I’m 76 this year. I’ve been in my home on the lake for over 50 years – I intend to die here. I’ve built an ADU for my future live-in nurse. I’ve made arrangement so that I can stay here until I leave this earth. My home is my happy place.

I fish, golf, like to tinker in my woodshop, and like to have social visits with friends and family. I am active and healthy. So, then, why am I a Wellnuo customer? Because I am so busy, my children, now in their 40’s, sometimes don’t hear from me for days – I don’t carry a phone everywhere I go, and often don’t call them back for a few days, which causes worry. The Wellnuo system gives my family the peace of mind they want, without having to change the way I do things. I’m 76. I’ve been independent my entire life. I’m busy. I’m not going to change my daily routines to accommodate their worries. So, this has been our compromise. With this smart home system, I don’t feel self-conscious of microphones or cameras, I don’t have to jump to answer the phone, I don’t have to carry my phone or any device on me. As long as I’m at home, which is the case most of the day, they know I’m still alive and kicking. They have their peace of mind. I get to do things the way I’ve been doing them these past 50 years – on my own terms.
